This paper attempted to correct serious errors in martyr information and provide complementary information on martyrs through a review of martyrs’ records related to the Jinmuyeong[鎭撫營] Martyrs’ Holy Land and Gapgot[甲串] Martyrs’ Holy Land in Ganghwa, Diocese of Incheon. Since research on martyrs of the Korean Catholic Church has a very important status in the church and academia, it should be closely criticized and verified, covering not only church-side literature records but also past Joseon government literature records. Currently, there are four martyrs Jinmuyeong, but Jang Chi-seon[張致善] and Choi Yeong-jun[崔英俊], whose substance is confirmed through records from the Joseon government and church, can confirm the martyrdom, but Park Seobang and Cho Seobang must withhold judgment on the martyrdom. The martyrdom information of Jang Chi-seon and Choi Yeong-jun should be corrected through records from the highly reliable Joseon government. Choi Yeong-jun is generally called Choi In-seo, but in the future, it would be better to name it Choi Yeong-jun, his real name. In the case of the three Gapgot martyrs, whether they are Catholic or not is the first issue, and their crime, the “a death row prisoner who provided information to the enemy’s warship[賊船潛通罪人]”, can be understood as having the meaning of a “a death row prisoner for believing in Catholicism[邪學罪人]” and a “a man who act to benefit the enemy[利 敵行爲者]” at the same time. Therefore, it can be said that the possibility of being a Catholic is relatively high. In the case of the martyr of Gapgot, as a result of the primary historical review, Wu Yun-jip should correct its name as Wu Won-jip[禹元集], and Park Sang-son should continue his follow-up study with the possibility of Park Sang-rok[朴尙祿] open.
